The Indian Flight Program
California Flight Academy conceived and developed a Directorate General Civil Aviation (D.G.C.A.) compliant training program, specifically tailored for Indian Students. This program is designed for the Indian Pilot to obtain a Private Pilot License through Commercial Pilots License with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings.
We e are fully staffed with 17 flight instructors and have a fleet of 21 aircrafts. Our program is designed to meet your specific needs; we also have an accelerated program for those students who are highly motivated and committed.
San Diego is a beautiful destination with fine weather conducive to flying year round. Rest assured you will be in good hands at California Flight Academy. We have other students from India and are experienced at helping you achieve your objectives.

Note that due to fluctuating fuel prices, additional fuel surcharges could be necessary.
There also are approximately $4,497 of additional incidental expenses. These include the FAA physical exam, all course materials, the FAA examiners for three flight tests, all written exams, maps, charts etc necessary for completion of these ratings. Accommodations are extra and are discussed in a following paragraph. However, the grand total for the entire program is $42,186 including 6 months accommodations.
The program can be completed in as little as 6 months if you are full time and really dedicated, and will result in a multi engine, commercial license.
Our fleet of Cessna 152/172N/172K/172SP/Piper Warrior/Mooney M20K/Beech Duchess and Piper Seneca aircraft are meticulously maintained by our company maintenance
staff, so you can be assured that you are flying in the safest, best training platforms available. We presently have 5 – 152’s, 5-172 N models, 1-172 K Model, 2 172SP models, 4 Warriors, 1 Mooney M20K, 2 Beech Duchess, and 1 Piper Seneca for a total of 21 aircraft. This fleet is supported by a staff of 17 instructors.
For accommodations, we use an apartment complex about 2 miles from the school. The price is $740 per month per student for a shared two bedroom apartment with complete cooking facilities and a full bed per person. This price also includes all utilities, high speed internet, cable TV and local phone service. Alternatively for those that desire to save a little money, four persons may share a two bedroom apartment for $540 per person per month with twin beds.
 
You will need a laptop computer for your studies. Either bring one with you from India or plan to buy one here.
Please note that food is not included in the program price. Plan to spend between $150 and $300 per month for food.
For transportation, most people buy a bicycle for around $100. Cars can also be rented for those who desire.
The VISA is quite simple. I send a form called an I-20 and you go to the nearest US embassy and obtain an M-1 VISA. It should not take more than a couple weeks. The reason for taking so long is that it usually takes a couple of weeks to get an appointment at the US embassy in your country. In fact, assuming you want to proceed, call the nearest embassy today and make an appointment because it will only take 2 or 3 days for me to get an I-20 to you. In a separate e-mail, I will send a list of information I need in order to issue your I-20. In order to issue the I-20 I need a $500 partially refundable deposit. (there are some direct expenses for issuing the I-20 that will be deducted).
Method of payment is whatever works for you. Wire transfer of funds, Credit card, Cash is all good. We require a minimum 25% deposit before commencing training. An additional 25% will be due six weeks after starting and another; 25% is due after twelve weeks. If you are doing a wire transfer sometimes it is less expensive to transfer a larger amount at once so as to avoid transfer fees. Every time you fly we debit your account and, when it is looking empty, we let you know and you can put some more funds in it.
